I completed my Undergraduate Degree in Psychology at London University in 1979. I have been working as a qualified Clinical Psychologist since 1983 having trained in Lancashire obtaining the British Psychological Society’s Diploma in Clinical Psychology. I have subsequently had specialised psychotherapy training at the Institute of Group Analysis in London and I qualified as a Group Analyst from there in 2001. I have very extensive experience assessing and treating individuals with highly complex and long standing psychological difficulties drawing on a range of theoretical approaches to inform my practice.
I have over 20 years experience in senior managerial positions in the NHS which have involved responsibility for the strategic planning and operational delivery of frontline patient services. Most recently as Strategic Lead for Psychological Therapies and Services in a large mental health trust I had specific responsibility for the development and delivery of services in a context of wider organisational change.
I have a particular interest and expertise in issues of change management in large and complex systems and organisations, and believes that these issues can be addressed through the application of psychodynamic, social and systems theory. Within the High View Practice I lead the Adult Service, working independently and with our associates to provide a comprehensive assessment and treatment service for individuals experiencing a range of psychological problems including anxiety, depression and relationship difficulties. I offer full Autistic Spectrum diagnostic assessments for adults. I offer clinical supervision to other mental health professionals including psychotherapists, group analysts and clinical psychologists.
In addition I provide a consultation service to organisations with a particular focus on issues of change management and coaching to help individuals to improve the effectiveness in their lives and careers. I am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, a registered Group Analyst with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
