Child Services at High View

The Child and Family Service is led by Dr Gwyn Carter, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, who has extensive experience of working with children, young people and their families. 

Assessment and treatment of childhood emotional, behavioural and developmental problems is available in comfortable, home based consulting rooms in Tunbridge Wells or locally within the home or school depending upon a child’s needs.

The practice is child focussed and aims to promote psychological wellbeing that enables all children seen within the service to maximise their potential.  Assessment and treatment is available for children, their parents and their families to help them to find their own solutions to their difficulties – the ones that will work best for them!  This is done by talking things through with a child and his or her family and using a range of evidence based assessments and therapeutic interventions to enable them to make the necessary changes in their lives. Where appropriate, Associates from different disciplines may be involved in putting together a comprehensive assessment and treatment package that fully addresses the need of the child and family concerned.
